because I've been reading too many morally confusing books lately...
You and one other person are standing in a room. You are holding the only copy left in existance of a particular book, the other person has a gun and a cigarette lighter.

If you give the other person the book, they will burn it and let you leave the room.

If you do not give them the book, they will shoot (and kill) you, but someone else will come save the book.

Aaaand the point of this post: What book/s would you die to protect and pass onto future generations? Hamlet/The Bible/War and Peace/Twilight/others/if any?

LOL although I'd be sad at the loss of the book, stories can always be passed down orally. Kinda like Farenheit 451.

But you lose the exact wording, which...detracts a lot from the story, I guess D:

Wait so you burn the book? xD

That's a hard one, because my favourite book is actually apart of the Tales of the Otori Clan series. So in this case I would let the book burn at then leave so I can write down the parts of the story that interlink the books together.

If on the other hand it was a single book, trying to think what book I have at home on the other side of the planet that I would die for....

Oh! I know, if I had the full translated version of the Tales of Genji I would let myself be killed to ensure the story's survival.

I guess if you have the rest of the series and a good memory it wouldn't be too hard to fill in the gaps. But at the same time you'd lose something if it wasn't the author's original words D:

Hey if you had to choose between translated and original which one would it be? xD

True but it's in this case I think I would be able to live with myself.

The original is in it's true form as it was meant to be. People have tried to translate it and most of them confess that they haven't been fully faithful (they've changed names, etc) to help a modern audience understand. So the original.

LOL. Guess I'll have to buy a copy of Twilight just so I can protect my life with it. :DD

lol. If it's the bible I'll let it burn.

Honestly? It would be hard to give up my life to a fictional book. It would have to be a really, really important book. Probably a science book of some sort../shrug

hahaha so would I *bad catholic*

Hm~ If it was some medical paper that could save other people I guess numbers mean you're better off taking the bullet. But still, it'd be a tough thing to do =|
